Today I talk about both Facebook and Twitter. I spend a lot more time in Facebook as I enjoy it more. I like people and it gives me a chance to spend time with them.

I actually recorded this video this past Thursday, however didn’t have the chance to post it to my blog until today. I would like to make a clarification. In Facebook each day you can play with your status. Examples of my status have been “getting ready to go to work,” “looking forward to the weekend,” “Watching Billy Bathgate on DVD.” I try to be creative and funny and my friends get to comment on my status. I also may comment on your status.

It is okay to add me as a friend and comment on my status. It is okay to interact with others who comment on my status. If someone adds you as a friend and you start going back and forth and they ask what you do, by all means share with them a link. However if you just go to people in my friends’ list and pitching them an opportunity without their permission (example, “hey you are friends with Alan, me too, join this amazing opportunity), I will be extremely upset. I have family and friends in Facebook who have nothing to do with my business. Facebook is a social networking site.

Facebook to me is a big social gathering. When I confirm you as a friend, I am introducing new people to you. Some people will want to discuss baseball while others will want to discuss football. Some will want to discuss the election and others may want to discuss current events. I like movies, tv shows and am open to different affiliate programs whereas a lot of people I know are not. The whole point is to find out what a person is interested in first before talking about a subject they have no interest in.

Each week I try to share stuff that I try. I do enjoy making videos. The videos I mostly share with you are the serious ones. I treat them like business presentations and be serious. This week you can tell I have a bit of a sense of humor by the shirt I was wearing. I admit it was loud.

I upload my joke videos to youtube. I do check the hits on each of them. On one of the videos someone rated it and commented on it. The number of hits on it then doubled. If I had a list (hey I do) I can tell people about my videos and get more exposure. Exposure is great. With your list you could ask people to rate and/or comment on it for more exposure.

I am not a comedian or anything, but do feel my youtube videos are better than what you see on television (comparing this to reality tv). It is not that I am that good, just that the stuff on television is so bad. I really can't stand reality tv. It is the worst.

Alan The Internet Guy's Trip to Canada

I had the opportunity in Quebec City to stay at the Chateau Frontenac. My room was actually small, but the view of this building and the other buildings were spectactular. Quebec City is celebrating its 400 anniversary so everything was very clean.

I took the train from Penn Station, New York to Montreal. It is an 11 hour train ride, however the scenery by the water is very nice. The crowd on the train both ways were pleasant, however the border patrol were difficult to most of the passengers. They left me alone, but I was a little uncomfortable on some of the questions they were asking my fellow passengers.

From Montreal I took another train (4 hours) to Quebec City. This was one of the best trips I have ever taken and the funny thing is this trip was actually a business trip. I have taken many business trips before, but nothing compares to Quebec City.

The introduction I recorded last Wednesday. The trip was two weeks ago. This was a great summer.

Do Your Customers Know That You’re The Best?

I would imagine that your current customers know that you product or service is the best, but how about the large universe of prospective buyers that have not yet tried what you have to offer?

How are these prospects supposed to know that you have something far superior to offer than your competition? How are they supposed to know that you are the best if you don’t tell them?

How are these prospective customers to know that you re the best if you don’t get the word out and let them know?

You can rely on word of mouth to a certain extent, but you are going to have to get the ball rolling yourself if you expect to capture a substantially larger share of your market.

It’s time to stand up and let people know that what you have to offer is of high quality, and that it’s the best.

The way to begin the process of letting people know that what you are selling is the best is to analyze what’s so good about it.
a. What are its unique features?
b. How does it stack up price wise?
c. How long will it last?
d. Why the competition’s product or service is inferior?
e. Why your product o r service is superior?
f. What are its special qualities
g. What’s your pitch?

After reviewing these things, and surveying actual customer opinions to find out what they like best about it, you are ready to begin the process of putting your best foot forward.

This may involve letting people know what you have to offer on your Company Website. To do this you need traffic or visitors to come to the site. To get them there you may need to place articles about your product or service on major article distribution directories on the Internet who in turn will get your stories published on various Website magazines called ezines.

You may also need to issue press releases or news releases letting people know about the great new things that are happening at your Company that may be of interest to them.

You might very well want to put a sales letter up on your Website extolling the virtues of what you are offering. And while you’re at it make sure that your Website is user friendly and well set up to convert visitors to buyers and prospects to an active prospect list for further follow up.

To do all this you will need an experienced copywriter to help show you the way, and produce imaginative promotional material that will work to prove to everyone that your products or services are the best.

Correction to this video, I say you can't build your opportunity with a traffic exchange. The truth is you use traffic exchanges and extortion marketing (point A) to capture a person's name and e-mail address and then put that person on a drip campaign (point B). You use your drip campaigns to build your opportunity (point C). You can not go from point A to point C and skip point B.

It is crucial that you understand this.
